South West Companies stave off the Credit Crunch
The South West Regional Develop Agency published recently in the The Economics Review that the south west economy which is worth a whopping £90 billion a year, remains buoyant and the outlook is positive.
Business sectors reporting strong order books for the first quarter include, high quality manufacturers, business services, export manufacturers, creative & media, technology, renewable energy and aerospace.
In addition, according to the latest national figures from the Labour Market Outlook (LMO) survey by the Chartered Institute of Personnel (CIPD), despite the demand for staff being at a four year low, there is no sign of a deterioration of the jobs market. Net hiring (recruitment minus redundancies) remains strongly positive at the moment.
It is good to see that despite all the tidings of woe that there is a positive outlook for business in the South West.
