Guidance on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Posted by in Website on 18th March 2020

Below is a presentation we are using in our organisation and one that we thought you'll find useful too. We have collated the information together from the NHS and the WHO (World Health Organisation) and presented in a format which you will hopefully find easy to understand too.

Following some confusion on what to do if you suspect Coronavirus, the purpose of this Toolbox Talk is to clarify the current guidance on the illness.

You would have heard of Coronavirus by now. These are the main symptoms as highlighted by NHS. However, experiencing the symptoms doesn’t necessarily mean you have the illness. The purpose of this Toolbox Talk is to provide further clarity.

Paramount Personnel is following Public Health England’s guidance on precautions. The current advice is to wash your hands even more so than you normally would and ensure, when coughing and sneezing, you cover your face, and if possible use a tissue and dispose of it immediately.

Our expectation is that everyone will make their best efforts to attend their normal place of work.

However, If you have either of the these symptoms you need to stay at home and self-isolate for 14 days:

  • a high temperature
  • a new, continuous cough

If you have these symptoms please, please do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.

Call the NHS 111 coronavirus service ONLY if:

  • you feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home
  • your condition gets worse
  • your symptoms do not get better after 7 days

Use the 111 coronavirus online service - https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19/

  • Only call 111 if you cannot get help online

You must agree in advance with the most senior person if you suspect you may need to self-isolate. This is really important, and Paramount Personnel must monitor all reports of the virus closely.
