Stability in the Hotel Industry

Posted by in Website on 30th July 2021

From the reports that we’ve been reading and the people that we’ve been talking to, investment in hotels is at a very high level. With international travel still being an issue, staycations, or holidaying in the country that you live in, have seen a huge boom.

Why is this interesting to us you might say?

Well, it’s no secret that the hospitality industry has found it harder to recruit since the lockdown of 2021 eased. Many people from the industry had to find alternative work last year and with the Government restrictions stopping the industry from being able to do any kind...

Freedom Day - 19th July

Posted by in Website on 9th July 2021

Initially planned for 21st June, Freedom Day is now likely to go ahead on Monday 19th July. The final decision on whether to proceed will be taken next Monday (12th July), but we will keep everything crossed that it goes ahead as planned.

What does this mean for the hospitality industry then?

Masks will become voluntary in all settings, including shops, hospitality venues and public transport. We’re still being advised to exercise ‘personal judgement’ and we’re sure that some venues will still ‘ask’ patrons to wear a mask when entering and exiting the premises. We’ve heard of small venues who are planning...

Paramount Personnel sponsors local youth football team

Posted by in Website on 23rd June 2021

Culm Sampford Under 9’s Lions

Here at Paramount Personnel were proud to be able to sponsor a local youth football team from Uffculme. We’ve paid for their new kit which we hope you’ll agree looks fantastic… well, the kids look delighted with it don’t they?

We wanted to make sure the coaches get a special mention too, they are amazing. They give up their own free time to help organise the children and run everything that is involved in organising youth football. They do a wonderful job of keeping a whole tribe of under 9 boys and girls focused, not only for...

Michelin Stars awarded

Posted by in Website on 26th January 2021

the list of Michelin Star restaurants has been released.

Some have been newly awarded, some renewed and others, increased.

17 restaurants were newly awarded One Star at the latest Great Britain & Ireland 2021 Michelin Guide Launch which took place on Monday 25th January. Those restaurants are listed here.

Under current circumstances, some may look on the award of a Michelin star as being a bit daft and possibly unnecessary. But it means SO much to the establishments that have worked so hard, despite being closed for much of 2020. Starting this year with a new award, or having a current star renewed, can...

New Government 3-Tier System explained.

Posted by in Website on 24th November 2020

As we approach the easing of Lockdown 2, we here at Paramount Personnel have carried out a bit of research and dug out the useful information which we think will be most important to our clients and friends, within the hospitality industry.

The straightforward advice from the Government continues to be as follows:

Remember, ‘Hands. Face. Space’.

  • Hands – wash your hands regularly and for 20 seconds
  • Face – wear a face covering in indoor settings where social distancing may be difficult, and where you will come into contact with people you do not normally meet
  • Space – stay 2 metres apart from people you do not...

Life on the Line or Food for Thought?

Posted by in Website on 20th March 2020

Across the land there is a bloodletting; a laceration that no quick trip to the chef’s office first aid kit will mend. Alas, a blue plaster doesn’t exist of the size required, but this is our new reality.

We’re not unrealistic, we’re not stupid. We know you can’t run a business or pay wages without guests, diners, revenue. We salute the owners and chefs up and down the land, thinking outside that box.

Michelin starred pubs are flogging takeaway lasagnes with salad; 3 rosetted restaurants are switching to pizzas on pick-up; even some establishments have gone into overdrive with their suppliers to then sell raw...

Guidance on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Posted by in Website on 18th March 2020

Below is a presentation we are using in our organisation and one that we thought you'll find useful too. We have collated the information together from the NHS and the WHO (World Health Organisation) and presented in a format which you will hopefully find easy to understand too.

Following some confusion on what to do if you suspect Coronavirus, the purpose of this Toolbox Talk is to clarify the current guidance on the illness.

You would have heard of Coronavirus by now. These are the main symptoms as highlighted by NHS. However, experiencing the symptoms doesn’t necessarily mean you have the illness....

Coronavirus (COVID-19) advice

Posted by in Website on 3rd March 2020

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

As we deal with industries where hygiene is of the utmost importance, we thought we'd issue some guidelines around good general care to help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.

There is plenty of information out there, but distilling it down in to easy to understand advice is what we're aiming to do. So, here's what we've put together for you.

What is the Coronavirus?

COVID-19 is a new illness that can affect your lungs and airways. It's caused by a virus called coronavirus.

What are the symptoms?

  • A cough
  • A high temperature
  • Shortness of breath

But these symptoms do not necessarily mean you have the illness. The...
