Site Agent – Newton Abbot  

Our clients our looking for a Site Agent to assist them on a large highways scheme.

As Site Agent your duties and responsibilities would be:

• Assisting the Project Manager with the on-site operational management of construction activity for the scheme
• Ensuring SHEQ standards are achieved
• Understanding the design
• Following the schedule and budget
• Directing a Sub-Agent and subcontractors

The role of Site Agent also includes an element of Stakeholder liaison to ensure that any parties likely to be affected by the scheme are kept informed in a timely manner and acting as their main point of contract to answer any queries.

The ability to manage and control the works to ensure that operations are carried out safely, on time, to budget and in accordance with minimum standards is essential.

As Site Agent you will be the on-site management of civil engineering activity for the contract on site, duties will include:

• Developing construction programmes, phasing plans & method statements
• Working closely with the project QS to develop monthly cost reports and capture compensation events.
• Efficient organisation of direct resources including plant & labour along with timely procurement of materials.
• Liaison with other stakeholders as required to deliver schemes
• Ensure activity plans, method statements and safe systems of work (including relevant permits) are in place before work is stated and that required safety standards are maintained at all times.
• Ensure subcontractors are prepared to undertake their work, keep accurate records including site diary, records of works activities, resource allocations, quality documentation and as-built information.

Essential skills for a Site Agent:

• Civil Engineering or related qualification
• CSCS card
• SMSTS
• UK/EEC driving licence

Preferable skills for Site Agent:

• Demonstrable experience in the successful project management of highway maintenance and infrastructure schemes
• Evidence of managing health & safety in construction.

 Pay Rate & Hours of Work:

• £450 per day
• 45 hours per week
• 07.30 – 17.30
